Nature has always been my personal playground. I am inspired in places where the wildness of the natural world is free to authentically compose itself. I also am compelled by the aesthetics of the ethereal realm, where the interplay of light on form induces an experimental banquet of ever changing angle, ribbon, and symmetry. My paintings are impressions of my observations and experiences. I emphatically believe that nature metaphorically depicts the intangible.

I am a keen observer and steady in hand. Although my earlier work can be described as photo-realism, my recent paintings reflect a more creative, subjective interpretation of subject matter. Essentially, my watercolor paintings are illustrative reflections of the deep love I feel for the natural world and life itself.

My recent return to painting follows a long career as a school administrator and educator. For the last thirty-four years, I have administered and directed a K-12th grade private school I began in 1985. Inherently, I feel that “the Progressive Schoolhouse” has provided the community with an educational model that uniquely validates and supports the aptitude and learning potential of its students. The fine arts program has been a fundamental cornerstone of the school’s model since its inception.

Like many artists before me, I am a naturalist and a humanitarian. For me, the natural world abundantly invokes a well-spring of reverence. Many of my paintings; when turned, reveal more than one composition and thus, like nature, invite transcendence and timeless introspection. As an artist in the 21st century, I look forward to the unique experiences and opportunities to engage in the world as a custodian, as well as an architect of the future.
